Karen Cecilie Caesar’s debut in 2021 landed on Spotify’s “New Music Friday” playlist and Bands of Tomorrow’s “Nordic Hits”, as well as on P5 and local radio. GAFFA’s reviewer also predicted “a bright future” for Karen Cecilie Cæsar when her debut album “Low Season” was released in November 2022 – and as support for Kajsa Vala at VEGA and with a growing live audience around the country, Cæsar is cementing her place on the Danish folk scene.
She is a warm and attentive hostess on stage and the musical expression contains an exciting duality between darkness and light. The music is hand-played and organic – and at the upcoming concerts, Karen Cecilie Cæsar will also perform in Danish, presenting songs from her upcoming Danish album, which addresses what she describes as “adult homesickness”.
Karen Cecilie Cæcars has just released the single “The Circus” with Jonas Fjelsted from the critically acclaimed band “Baby Did a Bad Thing”. The summer and fall of 2024 offers a mini-tour around the country, where the audience is invited into Cæcars’ musical universe at venues, festivals – and also with special concerts at places that bear historical traces or a special soul.
